Jonathan de Guzman has joined Carpi in their relegation battle on loan from Napoli for the rest of the season.
The Netherlands midfielder has not appeared in a Serie A game this season but should boost Carpi's hopes of staying up, with the squad five points from safety in 18th place.
Also on Thursday, Carpi saw the departure of Luca Marrone, who had been on loan from Juventus.
The 25-year-old will join Hellas Verona on loan until the season concludes.
Earlier, Carpi sold Marco Borriello to Atalanta.
Napoli had a scare on Thursday when Gonzalo Higuain was removed from a friendly after taking a knock to his calf, but the club confirmed the move was merely a precaution.
