Villarreal have announced the signing of Italy midfielder Roberto Soriano from Sampdoria.
The versatile 25-year-old passed his medical with the Yellow Submarine on Tuesday before putting pen to paper on a five-year contract. He will be presented on Wednesday.
Born in Germany, Soriano came up through the youth ranks at Bayern Munich before joining Samp in 2010. He scored eight goals in 40 games for the Blucerchiati last season -- his most prolific campaign in front of goal to date.
Soriano has an Italian passport and has played for the Azzurri at various levels, including eight appearances for the senior side since making his debut in 2014.
