Three well-taken goals inside the first 25 minutes effectively killed off the game. Huddersfield started brightly and only a sharp save to his right from Hugo Lloris kept the scores level. Then a through ball to Harry Kane put Spurs one up and thereafter they were pretty much in command. Ben Davies doubled the lead after a neat, flowing move and Kane added a third with the goal of the game -- a curled left-footed shot from the edge of the area. The second half was a scrappier affair with both sides recognising that the points belonged to Tottenham, though Moussa Sissoko scored in his first goal for the club in injury time.
Positives
Spurs maintained their unbeaten away record to make it four wins in four. If only they could reproduce this form at home. Kane was again magnificent, scoring his sixth and seventh goals for the club inside a week. A clean sheet was the icing on the cake for a well-organised defence. Also a shout-out for the Huddersfield fans: They got behind their team even when 3-0 down and almost none made an early exit from the ground. A credit to the club and the Premier League.
Negatives
None, unless you are being picky. You could argue that Spurs took their foot off the gas in the second half but a 4-0 win away from home is still an impressive performance. Dele Alli continues to be a mild concern. He has yet to rediscover his brilliance from last season.

8 -- Mauricio Pochettino got most of the main calls right with his team selection. Possibly reacted a little late when the game was drifting in the second half; putting on some fresh legs against a tiring Huddersfield defence could have provided some extra spark. Substituting Kane late in the game did not go down well with either the away or home fans, many of whom wanted the striker to get a chance at his second hat trick inside four days.
Player ratings (1-10, 10 = best, players introduced after 70 minutes get no rating)
GK Hugo Lloris, 8 -- Made one smart save to his right early on and was secure under pressure from some telling balls in the box. His distribution and decision-making on when to come out were also much improved. Had little to do in the second half.
DF Kieran Trippier, 7 -- Played a somewhat fortuitous through ball to set up Kane's first goal and was also in control defensively. His crossing still lacks the pinpoint accuracy of last season and his impact as a wing-back suffers accordingly.
DF Toby Alderweireld, 8 -- His partnership with Jan Vertonghen goes from strength to strength. The understanding between the Belgian internationals was once again key to Spurs' defensive line. Between them they left the Huddersfield attack to feed on scraps.
DF Davinson Sanchez, 7 -- Made several key interceptions, but still prone to stupid errors. Came dangerously close to giving away an unnecessary penalty when Spurs were 2-0 up that could have given the home side a way back into the game and some of his passes went astray. But the bottom line is that Spurs look better with him than they did without.
DF Jan Vertonghen, 8 -- Another game in which he looked entirely in command. Ventured further forward in the second half and even attempted a shot from range that went well over the bar. Sooner or later his time will come in front of goal.
DF Ben Davies, 8 -- His best game for the season so far. Gave Huddersfield few openings down their right flank and timed his runs forward to near perfection. Took his goal well after neat interplay between Kane and Christian Eriksen and made the fourth for Sissoko.
MF Eric Dier, 7 -- Looks more comfortable now that he is playing in his preferred position as a defensive midfielder. Shielded the ball when under pressure and only played a few loose passes. Went close to scoring with his head from an Eriksen corner: just a pity there was no one in the six-yard box to apply the finishing touch.
MF Harry Winks, 7 -- His first Premier league start of the season since returning from injury. Lasted the 90 minutes well and slotted in nicely, creating pockets of space with well-placed passes.
MF Christian Eriksen, 7 - Not at his very best, but still more than good enough. Set up Spurs' second goal and created several other first-half opportunities. Faded somewhat in the second half and was substituted late on.
MF Dele Alli, 7 -- Hit the post midway through the first half but he is still -- by his own standards -- misfiring. Some of his touches are sublime but all too often he is either caught in possession or misdirects the final ball. Was unfairly booked for diving.
FW Harry Kane, 9 -- The Spurs striker goes from strength to strength. Took his first goal well when put through and his second was a thing of beauty. Found the net a third time with a well-taken volley but was rightly judged offside. Might have had a third anyway in the first half but couldn't get the ball from out beneath his feet. Long may he stay in the form of his life.
Substitutes:
MF Moussa Sissoko, NR - Brought on late and immediately made an impact with his direct running. Still lacking a bit in confidence -- several passes went astray -- but his first goal for Spurs, scored in injury time, should do wonders for him.
MF Kyle Walker-Peters, NR -- Came on as a late replacement for Trippier who had taken a heavy knock a few minutes earlier. Safe on the ball.
MF Son Heung-min, NR -- Injury time substitute to wind down the clock. Instrumental in setting up the fourth goal.
