Rumours rated: Griezmann to Barcelona? Mkhitaryan to Inter?

With the January transfer window set to open, David Amoyal sorts through the speculation and rates how likely it is that these rumoured moves take place.

Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona: 60 percent

After staying at Atletico Madrid out of loyalty since the transfer ban would have prevented them from signing a replacement, Griezmann will almost certainly move in 2018. Barcelona are the front runners after getting encouragement from the player's camp but could face sanctions amid reports Atletico filed a tampering grievance with FIFA. Should Barca be banned from making transfers then Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain could be in the mix for Griezmann.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Inter: 25 percent

He has barely played recently and could be on his way to a new team. While Inter do have a need and would likely receive preferential treatment from their former manager Jose Mourinho, the cost of the deal would be considerable and that could be a massive hurdle, given the Italian club must meet Financial Fair Play parameters. In addition, Inter have been reluctant to do business with Mkhitaryan's agent Mino Raiola in recent years.

Javier Pastore to Inter: 40 percent

As one of many attacking options at Paris Saint-Germain, Pastore could be looking for more playing time and has indicated a return to Serie A, where he played for Palermo, is his preference. Inter executive director Walter Sabatini holds the player in high regard and tried to acquire him multiple times while at Roma but, as with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, must consider FFP restrictions. Moving Joao Mario, either as part of a swap with PSG or elsewhere, would help get a deal done for Pastore.

Jose Gimenez to Manchester United: 15 percent

United have acquired several young center-backs in recent years and their most recent target is the talented Uruguayan defender. But Atletico Madrid have prioritized resigning Gimenez and manager Diego Simeone vetoed a transfer; as a result the 22-year-old is expected to agree a substantial contract extension in the coming weeks, which will make him one of the center pieces in the Colchoneros' next cycle.

Sime Vrsaljko to Napoli: 45 percent

The former Sassuolo wing-back could return to Serie A in January; Napoli have made him the priority to replace the injured Faouzi Ghoulam and have been in contact with Vrsaljko's agent as well as Atletico Madrid. While Diego Simeone has shown more confidence in him recently and there is some distance between the parties over a price, as well as interest from Juventus, Napoli appear determined to complete a move that would allow them to move Elseid Hysaj to left-back until Ghoulam returns.

David Luiz to Juventus: 10 percent

A lack of playing time, as well as the Brazilian defender's similarities to Leonardo Bonucci and Chelsea's interest in Alex Sandro have energized this rumor, but a closer look at Juventus' situation makes a move unlikely. Medhi Benatia has been sensational -- his performances have been a big reason for Juve's six straight clean sheets -- and the Serie A champions also have Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Daniele Rugani, with Atalanta standout Mattia Caldara set to join next season.

Luis Alberto to Barcelona: 25 percent (January), 40 percent (summer)

After showing form that earned him a selection to Spain's national team, the ex-Liverpool winger has been scouted in person multiple times by Barcelona and, considering his versatility, could be a deluxe alternative in an offensive trio or help replace Andres Iniesta in the long term. Lazio are trying to extend his contract and bring his salary more in line with his performances, but they have also identified Atalanta's Papu Gomez as a potential replacement.

Miguel Almiron to Newcastle: 35 percent

The talented Argentine midfielder will likely be on his way to Europe after a strong debut season in MLS. Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is looking for reinforcements to his squad and, at the moment, his club are favorites in a race for Almiron that also features Inter and Arsenal. Atlanta are already working on finding a replacement and are set to complete the deal with Independiente for 18-year-old midfielder Ezequiel Barco.

Claudio Marchisio to MLS: 10 percent

He has struggled for playing time since returning from a knee injury and his prospects won't improve if Juventus sign Emre Can for next season. Marchisio is intrigued by the idea of following the path to North America taken by his former teammate Andrea Pirlo but his contract doesn't expire until 2020 and considering his high salary -- €7 million per season before taxes -- it's unlikely that he will decide to leave for MLS until 2019 when he'll be 33.

Jan Oblak to Paris Saint-Germain in 2018: 25 percent

Gigio Donnarumma remains the favorite to become PSG's next goalkeeper because of the French club's strong relationship with Mino Raiola, but Slovenian international Oblak is the fall-back plan. The Slovenian international has a €100m exit clause with Atletico Madrid but, despite their elimination from the Champions League at the group stage, a move to the French capital is more likely in the summer.
