Goalkeeper: Leicester picked up a 2-0 win at Brighton to make it four games unbeaten in the Premier League, with Kasper Schmeichel playing a key role in the Foxes' victory. The Denmark international pulled off a number of impressive saves and denied Glenn Murray from the penalty spot before Vicente Iborra and Jamie Vardy stole the points late on. "It was a big penalty save and a big away win," says Gabriele Marcotti, with Paul Mariner and Steve Nicol also including the Leicester shotstopper in their selections.
Defender: Newcastle took a huge step towards safety with a 1-0 win over Huddersfield as DeAndre Yedlin returned from international duty with the USA to deliver another energetic performance. "He's a willing and able runner down the right channel," notes Marcotti of the improving Yedlin, who has helped the Magpies to three clean sheets in their last five fixtures.
Defender: Ben Mee earns a call-up at centre-back after leading Burnley to a third successive victory with a 2-1 triumph at rock-bottom West Brom. The understated defender was overlooked by Gareth Southgate for England's recent international friendlies in favour of Clarets teammate James Tarkowski, but he proved his importance to Sean Dyche's side once again with another solid display at the back.
Defender: Who else could partner Mee at the heart of defence other than Jan Vertonghen? The Belgium international underlined why he's first choice at Tottenham ahead of compatriot Toby Alderweireld as Mauricio Pochettino's side gained their first win at Stamford Bridge since 1990. Harry Kane won't look forward to facing his club teammate when England line up against Belgium at the World Cup on June 28.
Defender: Andrew Robertson receives an honourable mention at left-back after teeing up Mohamed Salah's late winner for Liverpool, but Ben Chilwell gets the nod in team of the weekend for his role in Leicester's victory at Brighton. "He's living up to his potential this year," says Marcotti following the 21-year-old's assist for Iborra's opener.
Midfield: It has been a difficult few weeks for Paul Pogba at Manchester United, but the Frenchman returned to the starting lineup on Saturday to help the Red Devils cruise to a 2-0 win over Swansea. As Marcotti notes, Pogba was "back pulling the strings" in Jose Mourinho's midfield after starring on international duty with a goal and an assist in France's 3-1 win against Russia. There's a word of warning, however, as Marcotti adds: "He can do it against Swansea, but doubters will need him to do it against City in the derby too."
Midfield: Pogba will come face to face with Kevin De Bruyne when United travel to Manchester City next week, with the Belgium international aiming to inspire the Premier League leaders to a title-clinching victory. De Bruyne was instrumental once again as Pep Guardiola's side eased to a 3-1 win at Everton, picking out Gabriel Jesus for a simple headed finish at Goodison Park.
Midfield: Completing a three-man midfield is Watford's Will Hughes, who impressed Marcotti with a telling contribution in the Hornets' 2-2 draw with Bournemouth. "It was maybe his best performance in a Watford shirt," says Marcotti, after Hughes set up what looked to be the winning goal for Roberto Pereyra before Jermain Defoe snatched a draw at the death. "He had plenty of presence and quality -- now he just needs some consistency."
Attacking Midfield: Dele Alli claims his place in the hole behind the front two after delivering the individual performance of the weekend to shoot down Chelsea. The Tottenham star endured a frustrating international break, playing just 22 minutes of England's two friendlies, but reminded everyone of his quality by all but ending Chelsea's top-four hopes. "It was a brilliant goal," says Nicol of Alli's first, before he grabbed a second to wrap up the visitors' first victory at Stamford Bridge in 28 years.
Attack: First up in attack is Mr. Team of the Weekend, Mohamed Salah, whose performances for Liverpool this season have guaranteed his inclusion almost every week. The Egypt international pinched the points for the Reds at Crystal Palace on Saturday as Jurgen Klopp's side came from behind to hold on to third place. "He's a game changer and a game winner," says Mariner, with Marcotti and Nicol also picking Salah in their lineups.
Attack: Marko Arnautovic was another unanimous pick to complete our best XI after he scored twice to spearhead West Ham's 3-0 win over Southampton. "Moyes has done a great job with him," says Nicol, while Marcotti describes the Austrian as "the poor man's Ibrahimovic". Zlatan enjoyed a pretty memorable weekend himself at LA Galaxy...
Manager: There were mutinous scenes at the London Stadium three weeks ago as West Ham crashed to a 3-0 defeat against Burnley, but David Moyes steadied the ship with a 3-0 win over Southampton on Saturday. "If it had gone the other way it could have all fallen apart, but it looks like they'll be safe now," says Nicol.
