The son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone believes his father will switch to Inter Milan in the future.
Simeone played for Inter for two seasons from 1997-1999 and said in April that "one day I will return" to the Italian side, who have failed to qualify for the Champions League the past five seasons.
Giovanni Simeone, a striker for Genoa, told Onda Cero in Spain that he hopes his father follows up on his Inter vision.
"I think that at some stage my father will sign for Inter," the younger Simeone said.
"At least I really hope he does. He is happy at Atletico Madrid, from what I can see, but maybe in future it could happen."
Diego Simeone's future in Atletico was in doubt earlier this year after his contract was shortened by two seasons in September.
