Tottenham kept their Champions League hopes alive as they came from behind to beat PSV Eindhoven 2-1 at Wembley, with Harry Kane dramatically scoring and forcing an own goal inside the final 15 minutes.
Spurs fell behind after just 61 seconds as Luuk de Jong headed home, and although they then dominated and created chance after chance, they were unable to score until the closing stages.
Kane eventually levelled in the 78th minute before a fortunate winner, his header deflecting off two PSV players and into the net.
It was no less than the North Londoners deserved after registering 30 shots on goal. However, Inter Milan's late equaliser against Barcelona means Mauricio Pochettino's men remain three points behind the second-placed Italians in Group B and still face an uphill task to qualify, especially with a trip to Camp Nou still to come.
Positives
Tottenham had no problem creating chances and they refused to give up. On a night when it seemed the ball was never going to go into the net, they kept believing and got their reward in the end.
Kane seems to be finding some consistency after now scoring four goals in his last four games, and goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga -- who appears to have overtaken Michel Vorm and become the No. 2 -- justified his inclusion and enhanced his reputation further with a couple of smart second-half saves.
Negatives
Spurs had conceded in the second minute of their previous European home match against Barcelona, and they fell behind even quicker this time.
To compound the sense of deja vu, this is the third time in five games that the North Londoners have conceded from a set piece, and the third time in this Champions League group stage, after similarly costly defensive failings against Inter Milan and PSV in Eindhoven.

8 -- Mauricio Pochettino opted for an aggressive 4-1-4-1 formation, which ultimately paid off. His decision to withdraw the lively Lucas Moura drew boos from the crowd but it was probably pre-planned given the Brazilian played for 79 minutes against Wolves on Saturday, and the introduction of Fernando Llorente paid dividends as the Spaniard set up the equaliser.

GK Paulo Gazzaniga, 7 -- Couldn't do much about the goal and made two good saves in the second half while pulling off a brave Cruyff turn in front of his net.
DF Serge Aurier, 5 -- Solid enough defensively and was always willing to attack down the touchline. His deliveries were generally poor, though and both Spurs goals came after he had been substituted.
DF Davinson Sanchez, 7 -- Solid at the back and did his best to bring his aerial ability to bear in PSV's penalty box.
DF Toby Alderweireld, 7 -- Mistimed his jump when PSV scored, allowing De Jong to head in behind him, but made some important tackles and blocks after that. Later played Dele Alli in on goal with one excellent ball over the top.
DF Ben Davies, 6 -- Ineffective on the ball in the first half and was lucky to avoid a booking when he fouled Hirving Lozano. He caused more problems for PSV after the break and provided the cross for the winner.
MF Harry Winks, 8 -- Kept the ball moving quickly, giving his side a launchpad for their attacking barrages, while halting a number of PSV counters as the deepest-lying midfielder in the 4-1-4-1 system.
MF Lucas Moura, 7 -- Embarked on a number of exhilarating runs, beating two or three players at a time. It was a shame he was unable to finish after a mazy dribble took him from the halfway line all the way into the box.
MF Dele Alli, 6 -- Having lost De Jong for the goal, being blocked off by Nick Viergever, the 22-year-old created chances for Kane and Christian Eriksen while having opportunities of his own. He just needed to be more clinical.
MF Christian Eriksen, 6 -- Like Alli, the Dane was lively and posed a threat but was unable to provide a goal. He could have done better when played through on goal by Alli.
MF Son Heung-min, 6 -- Well below par in the opening half an hour but grew into the game, having a penalty appeal turned down and seeing a shot deflected narrowly wide.
FW Harry Kane, 8 -- Forced a few saves from Jeroen Zoet before "scoring" the two goals his side so desperately needed, albeit getting a large slice of luck for the second.

MF Erik Lamela, 7 -- Gave Spurs extra energy and played some clever passes around the edge of the box.
FW Fernando Llorente, N/R -- Set up the leveller, bringing the ball down carefully in front of Kane and allowing his teammate to drive the ball home.
