Hull have confirmed the loan signing of defender Omar Elabdellaoui from Greek side Olympiakos.
Right-back Elabdellaoui, 25, who worked under Tigers head coach Marco Silva at Olympiakos last season, will stay at the KCOM Stadium until the end of the current campaign.
The Norway international, Silva's third new signing at Hull since he replaced Mike Phelan on Jan. 5, could make his debut in Saturday's Premier League game at Chelsea.
"We haven't been able to play with a natural right-back since I arrived here and so it is a position we needed to find a solution for," Silva told the club's official website.
"Omar is a player I know and he has come here to help improve our squad."
Elabdellaoui began his career at Manchester City and after loan spells at Stromsgodset and Feyenoord, moved on to German club Eintracht Braunschweig before joining Olympiacos.
Everton striker Oumar Niasse, also on loan until the end of the season, and midfielder Evandro, signed for an undisclosed fee from Porto, made their debuts off the bench in last week's home win against Bournemouth.
Silva is hoping to further strengthen his squad but will bid to keep the Tigers in the top flight without midfielder Jake Livermore, whose permanent move to West Brom, for a reported fee of around £10 million, was confirmed on Friday morning.
A midfield replacement is now a top priority for Silva, who revealed he did not want Livermore to leave the club.
"If you asked me if I wanted to lose Jake, my answer is no," Silva said. "Of course he was a very important player for us and it's never good when you lose an important player.
"But it was a very good proposal for him and the club have a good proposal also. The deal is closed. This is football.
"What we need in this moment is to find a quick replacement for this player because we've lost an important one."
When asked if he will be handed the money from Livermore's sale to strengthen his squad, Silva said: "Yes, it's important because we have a budget and you know it's not a big budget to find the best solutions."
Meanwhile, Silva is hopeful of keeping hold of winger Robert Snodgrass at least until the end of the season.
The Tigers have turned down multiple bids from West Ham and another from Burnley, reported to be £7.5m, for the Scotland international.
Tigers fans are braced for further offers for star player Snodgrass, who is doubtful for Saturday's trip to Stamford Bridge due to a muscle strain.
"I don't have news about Snodgrass," Silva said. "He didn't train with us for the last couple of days because he's had problems with a muscle.
"We'll see if it's possible or not that he'll play in the next game. But about transfers, nothing."
Silva has no other new injury or suspension problems, while midfielder David Meyler could be available after returning to full training this week.
