Bruno Martins Indi hopes to make his loan move to Stoke City permanent in the summer.
The defender joined on a season-long deal from Porto in August and has started every game since.
Martins Indi, 25, said he was in talks with the club over his future
He told Sky Sports News: "We are talking to each other, the club and me. I have the intention to stay. We want to see what is going to happen.
"I was following Stoke City before I was here and I knew the way the manager wants to play. He gave me a lot of confidence to come here and he trusted me. I'm happy that I could give him that back."
Stoke have kept three clean sheets in their last four games.
