Andrea Petagna has replaced Manolo Gabbiadini in the Italy squad to face Albania and Holland after the Southampton striker suffered a groin injury.
Gabbiadini, who has scored six goals for Saints since joining from Napoli in January, limped out of their Premier League defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.
Italy head coach Giampiero Ventura has instead turned to Atalanta striker Petagna, the scorer of five Serie A goals this season, with the squad update being published on the national team's official website.
The Azzurri are set to meet Albania in a World Cup qualifying game in Palermo on March 24 before tackling Danny Blind's Holland in an Amsterdam friendly four days later.
