Borussia Monchengladbach have signed midfielder Denis Zakaria from Young Boys in a deal reportedly worth about €10 million.
Zakaria, 20, has penned a five-year contract to keep him at the Bundesliga club until 2022.
The Switzerland international was brought in by Monchengladbach following Mahmoud Dahoud's departure to Borussia Dortmund.
Zakaria told a news conference: "I felt their faith in me when I was speaking to them -- this is how it was when I moved from Servette Genf to Young Boys Bern two years ago. I feel the move is a good decision for me and Borussia are the next step in my career. I see the transfer as a challenge -- I want to prove to myself that I can play at this level."
Zakaria, who rose through the youth ranks at Swiss side Servette, started out as a striker and was brought back to defence before finding his current position in central midfield.
He made six appearances for Servette's senior team before joining Young Boys in 2015.
