RB Leipzig have indicated they could consider bids for Scotland international Oliver Burke.
Burke, 20, became Leipzig's record signing when he joined from Championship club Nottingham Forest for a reported €15 million fee last August, having drawn comparisons with Gareth Bale and been linked with clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
However, the attacker, who signed a five-year deal with the Bundesliga side, made just five starts for Leipzig in his debut season and had been tipped for a loan move for the 2018-19 campaign.
Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick said the club would not consider loan offers and suggested they would only be open to permanent bids.
"I can't tell you what will happen if someone comes up with an unforeseeable offer," he told a news conference on Thursday.
Burke made a promising start to life in Germany, providing the assist for the winner as Leipzig stunned Dortmund on his debut and scoring his first goal for the club a fortnight later against Cologne, and coach Ralph Hasenhuttl told reporters in October that the youngster was getting "better and better" and tipped him to take the club's No. 10 role.
However, Hassenhuttl was less positive by the end of a season in which Burke had contributed no further goals and only one more assist in a total of 25 league appearances.
"When he joined us he had many, many footballing deficits," Hassenhuttl said in May. "He's a player who lives off his individual quality, his pace, his dribbles. But that's not part of our approach."
Explaining that Leipzig's game is based on taking only a few touches and good combination play, he added: "That's something he still needs to learn. He has made big progress already, but he will need more time ... Oli's time will come."
Burke is due to meet up with his teammates in Germany on Monday to join up with their preseason preparations.
Rangnick, who was speaking after the club signed Jean-Kevin Augustin from Paris Saint-Germain, also said at the news conference that Naby Keita and Emil Forsberg would not be allowed to leave.
"We will definitely not be letting any key players go," he said. "There's nothing that will make us budge."
