Monaco defender Djibril Sidibe has signed a contract extension with the French champions.
The 24-year-old right-back was only 12 months into the five-year deal he signed after joining from Lille last summer but he has now put pen to paper on terms to keep him at Monaco until 2022.
The Ligue 1 club will hope the new contract will fend off interest from the Premier League, with north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham reportedly having shown an interest in signing Sidibe.
Sidibe told the Monaco website he considered it an honour to wear the club's jersey.
"It is a great mark of gratitude for me to sign the contract. We are part of the top club in France, with our qualities we will defend our title this season.''
Sidibe had been suggested as a target for the Gunners should Hector Bellerin leave while Spurs were said to be lining him up should Kyle Walker move from White Hart Lane -- which could now happen amid reports on Thursday afternoon of a £50 million deal being agreed with Manchester City.
Tottenham would probably have to look elsewhere now for a potential replacement after Sidibe committed his long-term future to Monaco.
City and Manchester United had also been linked with Sidibe, who hinted towards the end of last season that he might be open to a move to the Premier League, but it seems any proposed switch to England has been placed on the back burner.
Meanwhile, Sidibe became the second player on Thursday to sign a new deal at the club after defender Kamil Glik put pen to paper on one-year contract extension.
The 29-year-old Pole, who had also been linked with Tottenham, has committed his future to Monaco until June 2021.
After scoring six goals from centre-back during the club's march to the 2016-17 Ligue 1 crown, Glik told asmonaco.com: "I am really very happy, especially after our superb season last year. We always gave 100 percent.
"I'd like to thank the president, vice-president and the club for this new contract, it's a fine reward.
"This season, the objectives are the same. To go as far as possible in the Champions League. We'll be going out to defend our French league title and keep winning!''
