Plateau United maintained their five-point lead at the top of the standings, while Akwa United kept the pressure on the league leaders.
Akwa United 2 Nasarawa United 1
Akwa rallied back after going behind against Nasarawa, who took the lead just before the break through Aminu Kadir. However, Ubong Friday levelled matters three minutes later, before former junior international Christian Pyagbara scored what turned out to be the winner just after the restart. Akwa move into second spot, while Nasarawa slip to ninth.
ABS FC 2 Enugu Rangers 0
Goals in either half from Abubakar Chindo and Wasiu Alalade handed ABS a first win in seven games against Rangers, whose turbulent season continued as they slipped into the relegation zone. Rangers were subdued for the duration of the game; Chiamaka Madu missing their best opportunity in a one-on-one situation with goalkeeper Abdullahi Boje. Despite the win, ABS remain stuck in 18th place.
FC Ifeanyi Ubah 2 Gombe United 2
Ubah threw away a two-goal lead against Gombe as complacency appeared to get the better of the Nnewi-based team in the last 30 minutes. Isaac Loute produced two magical moments within nine first-half minutes, netting two superb free-kicks from an identical angle to give the hosts the advantage. However, relegation-threatened Gombe showed some fight and earned a point as Sani Abbani and Austine Oladapo scored.
Rivers United 3 Wikki Tourists 1
Rivers recorded their biggest win and best performance of the season as they thumped Wikki Tourists. Guy Kuemian and Emeka Ogbugh's sumptuous finish on the stroke of halftime gave Rivers a comfortable lead, before Abubakar Lawal pulled a goal back after a goalmouth scramble which saw goalkeeper Abiodun Akande stretchered off with a broken leg. However, Chiwendu Ali restored the hosts' two-goal cushion from the spot as Rivers moved up to 14th.
Lobi Stars 0 Plateau United 0
Plateau maintained their five-point lead at the top thanks to a brave away performance against Stars in Makurdi. Stars came closest to scoring, but Anthony Okpotu's 35th-minute pile-driver came back off the woodwork. The hosts move up to sixth spot with the point.
Shooting Stars 1 Enyimba 0
Abayomi Adebayo's eight minute strike was enough for Shooting Stars to earn maximum points against Enyimba, as the Oluyole Warriors pulled away from the drop zone into 16th-place. Enyimba, surprisingly failed to dominate the game despite their technically superior players, hold on to fourth-place by the skin of their teeth, as the race for a continental ticket gets more intense.
Sunshine Stars 1 El Kanemi Warriors 0
Stars pulled away from the relegation zone and into 11th-place thanks to a hard-fought home win against poor travellers Warriors, who drop down to seventh. Sikiru Alimi, not for the first time this season, came through for Stars, nodding home in the 34th minute.
Kano Pillars 2 Remo Stars 0
First-half strikes from Nyima Nwagua and Sikiru Kamal handed 10th-place Pillars a comfortable victory against bottom club Remo Stars in Kano.
