Real Madrid's Marcelo, Jesus Vallejo return to training ahead of PSG clash

Real Madrid have received a timely boost ahead of next week's Champions League round-of-16 return leg at Paris Saint-Germain with defenders Marcelo and Jesus Vallejo returning to full training on Thursday.

Marcelo, the left-back, had been sidelined since injuring his right hamstring on Feb. 19, and Vallejo, the central defender, had been out of action with a similar injury for six weeks.

Both players took part in training in preparation for Saturday's home game against Leganes.

Midfielders Luka Modric, who has a knee injury, and Toni Kroos, with a hamstring injury, are still unavailable.

Coach Zinedine Zidane said earlier this week that while the club don't want to risk rushing players back, he was "optimistic" regarding their return to fitness.

Casemiro also returned to training on Thursday as he has recovered from a stomach virus that caused him to miss the 1-0 defeat at Espanyol two days earlier.

Third in La Liga, Madrid hold a 3-1 advantage on PSG heading into the game at the Parc des Princes on March 6.
