Schalke expect midfielder Max Meyer to leave this summer, the Bundesliga club's sporting director has said.
Meyer, 22, will be a free agent at the end of the season and has been linked to Arsenal and Barcelona.
"At the moment we can and must expect that Max leaves the club in the summer," director Christian Heidel said on Thursday. "Everything suggests that.
"There is no offer from us and no wish from Max to have a conversation again."
The Germany international turned down a second contract offer from Schalke last month, but at that time Heidel said he retained hope that Meyer would be open to resuming talks.
Schalke are in second place in the Bundesliga, but they will also lose Leon Goretzka next season, as he already signed a pre-contract with Bayern Munich in January.
