Brazil's Marcelo to return against Belgium as Miranda warns of tough test

Real Madrid full-back Marcelo will be back in the side for the World Cup quarterfinal against Belgium on Friday, coach Tite has said.

Marcelo suffered a back problem that meant he was taken off as Brazil beat Serbia in their last group game and sat out the round-of-16 win over Mexico.

But Tite told a news conference in Kazan that the 30-year-old was ready to return to action and would come in for Felipe Luis.

"I talked to Marcelo and Filipe Luis. Filipe Luis played very well in those matches, but Marcelo is coming back," he said.

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho will come in for the suspended Casemiro.

Defender Miranda, who will captain the side, warned that they had to be ready for the threat posed by Roberto Martinez's Belgium.

"Belgium is not just [Romelu] Lukaku," he said. "They are a very strong attacking team, but the main way to stop the opponent is to be aware of all of the players who are on the pitch because there are several high-quality players, they are very skilful.

"Our defence is going to be very well prepared to neutralise all of the opponents' attacks."
