Former Manchester United forward Giuseppe Rossi is training with Real Salt Lake as he looks to earn a contract with the MLS side, sources have told ESPN.
The American-born forward has spent most of his professional career in Italy and Spain, having suffered serious knee injuries, and last played for Genoa in the 2017-18 season.

Rossi, who made his professional debut at United in 2004 before leaving for Villarreal in 2007, has join RSL's camp in Phoenix where, according to ESPN sources, they are discussing a potential contract. He will train with the rest of the squad on Thursday.
The 33-year-old earned 30 international caps for Italy and has represented eight clubs throughout his career, with Villarreal the club he made the most appearances. At the La Liga club, he scored 82 times in 192 appearances.
Rossi left Villarreal to join Fiorentina in 2012, but serious injuries restricted him to just 42 appearances across all competitions in six seasons with the Serie A club.
He spent time on loan with La Liga sides Levante and Celta Vigo before earning a short-term contract at Genoa, where he scored once in 10 appearances. Rossi also spent time on loan at Newcastle and Parma while at United.
Rossi was eligible to play for both Italy and the United States at international level but, despite having been invited to Bruce Arena's pre-World Cup training camp for the USMNT in 2006, he elected to represent the Azzurri.
