Liverpool take note: Celtic show how to celebrate title without fans

Football without fans is something we're all having to get used to amid the coronavirus pandemic, but Celtic showed how to get everyone involved as they celebrated their Scottish Premiership title across social media on Saturday.

The Hoops picked up their ninth title in a row and dedicated a day of social (distancing) fun to the cause.

Streaming a virtual party on Celtic TV, Youtube, Facebook and Twitter, Celtic got fans to show how they were celebrating at home throughout the day and had players like captain Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths, Callum McGregor and Fraser Forster thank them for their efforts.

Meanwhile, the SPL trophy has been on something of a journey as Celtic, "adhering to current social distancing practices," dropped it off on the doorsteps of their players ...

... as well as manager Neil Lennon, who will need to build a bigger trophy cabinet.

Of course, the world of esports showed how the title should have been celebrated.

While there were some celebrity appearances from singer Rod Stewart, who is a big Celtic fan.

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, who spent two years at Celtic from 2015, should have been taking notes given that Liverpool's title party could be starting any day now.

And Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, who scored 51 goals in 91 games for the Hoops between 2016 and 2018, got in on the act too.

All that remains is to see what Liverpool will have in store for their fans once the Premier League eventually awards them the title. Watch this space.
