Thai League 1 champions BG Pathum United have reinforced ahead of the second half of the 2021-22 campaign with the signing of Singapore international Ikhsan Fandi.
Ikhsan, who is currently featuring at AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 on home soil with the Lions through the semifinals -- joins from Jerv having plied his trade in Norway - initially with Raufoss, since 2019.
The signing of the 22-year-old was announced by BGPU on social media with a humourous video involving his older brother Irfan Fandi, who has been with the Thai outfit for the past three years, presenting him with a box that was later revealed to contain a club jersey.
Nonetheless, it does remain to be seen if the duo will link up together in Thailand given Irfan has recently been linked with South Korean giants Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
Ikhsan, the second son of Singapore legend Fandi Ahmad, has long been regarded as one of Southeast Asian football's brightest talents, and is already the main man in the Lions attack despite his relatively tender age.
Already with over 20 caps to his name, Ikhsan has scored twice at the current Suzuki Cup after bagging a brace in their opening 3-0 win over Myanmar and will be looking to inspire Singapore to victory over Indonesia in the last four, as they look to keep alive their hopes of winning a first title since 2012.
With the ongoing Thai League 1 campaign on its mid-season break, BGPU -- who will also feature in the AFC Champions League, Asia's premier club competition, next year for the second season running -- are currently fifth on the table, five points behind joint-leaders Buriram United and Bangkok United.
