Pratama Arhan has become the latest Indonesia international to earn a move abroad after completing a move to Japan's Tokyo Verdy from PSIS Semarang.

The transfer was announced by the J2 League outfit on Wednesday and sees the talented left-back continue his emergence as one of Southeast Asia's hottest prospects.

Despite only boasting a handful of senior league appearances to his name with PSIS in Indonesia's Liga 1, Arhan came to the fore at last year's AFF Suzuki Cup -- playing an integral role for Garuda as they reached the final before ultimately losing to Thailand.

Competent in his defensive duties, the 20-year-old also pushed forward to good effect and also netted twice throughout the campaign, which culminated in him being named the Best Young Player of the Tournament.

Following his impressive displays, Arhan was immediately linked with a move abroad, with rumoured interest from several Japanese and South Korean clubs although it is Tokyo Verdy that have now won the race for his services.

Arhan is the latest in a growing number of Indonesians plying their trade abroad, with attackers Egy Maulana and Witan Sulaeman both on the books of Slovakia's Senica, while right-back Asnawi Mangkualam has caught the eye in South Korea's second tier with Ansan Greeners.

Indonesia will be hoping the experience that Arhan gains in Japan will stand them in good stead in the qualifiers for AFC Asian Cup 2023, which are scheduled to take place in June.
