Danny Rowe double sends Fylde through to FA Cup second round for first time

Danny Rowe's clinical double helped AFC Fylde reach the second round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history as they eased past National League North side Kidderminster 4-2.Rowe grabbed his first after 14 minutes before completing a brace early in the second half.A sensational individual goal from Jonny Smith made it 3-0 and Sam Finley added a fourth before Joel Taylor and Andre Brown grabbed late consolations for the visitors.National League side Fylde went ahead when Rowe turned past his marker and slotted home from 12 yards and three minutes into the second half the striker pounced on a loose ball to score from close range.Just six minutes later Smith dribbled from inside his own half before curling in off a post from just inside the area.Dave Challinor's side made it 4-0 after 64 minutes when Finley rounded off a swift break by slotting into the bottom corner.But sloppy defending from the hosts allowed Kidderminster to grab two late consolations.First Taylor drifted into the area and hammered into the far corner with 16 minutes left before Brown fired in from 12 yards in added time.

Blackpool see off Kidderminster to book place in FA Cup second round

Strikes from Jamille Matt and Brad Potts helped Blackpool earn their first FA Cup win since 2012 with a routine 2-0 victory over National League North side Kidderminster at Bloomfield Road.On a day when Blackpool supporters were once again protesting against club owners the Oyston family prior to kick-off, on the pitch the Seasiders did pick up just their second win in seven games.After a frustrating start, Blackpool took the lead with their first chance after 27 minutes. Kyle Vassell hooked the ball in for former Kidderminster striker Matt to nod home from six yards.And 10 minutes later the League Two side doubled their advantage as Potts surged forward from midfield before volleying past Samuel Hornby from 18 yards as the ball popped up off a defender.Gary Bowyer's side came close to a third just after the break as on-loan Leicester midfielder Michael Cain picked up the ball 20 yards out and curled an effort inches wide.But Kidderminster did enough to ensure they were not on the end of a drubbing from their higher-ranked opponents, and threatened on a number of occasions.Emmanuel Dieseruvwe and Arthur Gnahoua both had second-half shots blocked from close range.

Kidderminster's faint survival bid remains alive after a 1-0 win over FC Halifax.Harriers have left it as late as possible to make a run to avoid the drop, beating Welling on Saturday and now this, but their chances remain intact.Ben Whitfield scored the only goal of the game four minutes after the break, while Kiddy could afford a penalty miss from Elton Ngwatala on their way to the points.Gurjit Singh's shot was saved forcing a corner, and when Lewis Kinsella found Whitfield in the 49th minute, he did the rest.Sam Johnson would save Ngwatala's spot kick, but it mattered little as Kidderminster moved to eight points behind Halifax - in the final safe place - with three games left.
