WNBA records no positive coronavirus tests over past four weeks

The WNBA has had zero positive tests for COVID-19 among its 139 players since the league's initial quarantine ended July 10 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, the league announced Friday.

Most players reported to the WNBA bubble on July 6 and quarantined for four days. During that period, two players tested positive: Atlanta's Glory Johnson and Kalani Brown. Both quarantined off site and have returned to IMG. Johnson has played the past four games for the Dream, while Brown is still in medical protocol.

Several players tested positive before traveling to the bubble. They had to quarantine for about two weeks and get at least two consecutive negative tests before they could come to IMG. Those players included Atlanta's Courtney Williams, Chicago's Sydney Colson, Connecticut's Natisha Hiedeman and Briann January, Indiana's Lauren Cox, New York's Megan Walker, and Phoenix's Sophie Cunningham. Indiana's Erica Wheeler also tested positive earlier this year, and the Fever hope she may still join the team.

New York's Asia Durr is not playing this season after contracting COVID-19 in June.

Two players -- Las Vegas' Lindsay Allen and Los Angeles' Te'a Cooper -- have gotten inconclusive positive tests while in the bubble, which caused both to sit out one game. In both cases, that test was followed by two negative tests and they were able to play again.

The WNBA began a 22-game regular season on July 25.
