Minnesota Lynx center Sylvia Fowles did not play in Tuesday's 88-86 WNBA semifinal Game 1 loss to the Seattle Storm because of a calf injury.
Fowles, a two-time WNBA champion with the Lynx and the 2017 league MVP, played only seven games in the regular season because of calf issues. She had been out since Aug. 13 before returning for Minnesota's second-round victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Sept. 17.
In that game, Fowles played 18 minutes and had six points and four rebounds.
Until this season, the 6-foot-6 Fowles had not missed a game for the Lynx, whom she joined in a trade from the Chicago Sky midway through the 2015 season.
In the Lynx's second game this season in the bubble in Bradenton, Florida, on July 28, Fowles broke the WNBA's career rebounding record. She has 3,400 rebounds in the regular season and 418 in the playoffs.
Fowles played only one minute of Minnesota's Aug. 13 game before exiting with the injury that kept her out the rest of the regular season. In the six games before that, she averaged 16.7 points and 11.3 rebounds.
