The Seattle Storm will be without guard Sami Whitcomb for the WNBA Finals, as she has left the bubble in Bradenton, Florida, to return to Australia to be with her wife for the birth of their first child.
The Storm, who swept Minnesota in the semifinals, await the winner of Tuesday's Game 5 in the other semifinal between Las Vegas and Connecticut. The WNBA Finals begin Friday.
Whitcomb, a 5-foot-10 guard, came off the bench and played in all 25 games this year for the Storm. She averaged 8.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the regular season, and 5.0 PPG, 1.3 RPG and 1.7 APG in the playoffs.
Whitcomb, 32, was a reserve on the Storm's 2018 WNBA championship team.
