Miz: 'McGregor is the bad guy of the UFC' (1:08)

The SportsNation crew asks WWE superstar The Miz what he thinks about Conor McGregor's comments about the WWE and if we'll ever see him in the squared circle. (1:08)

In the aftermath of Conor McGregor's comments about the WWE, there was a level of debate and discourse over whether or not McGregor might be angling for a WWE career after he steps out of the UFC octagon.

With WWE superstar The Miz in studio for SportsNation on Friday afternoon, hosts Michelle Beadle, Marcellus Wiley and LZ Granderson picked his brain for an opinion on the matter.

The conversation then turned to current pro athletes The Miz would like to see in a WWE ring, and his first choice was a guy who already has been in the headlines of late as he attempts to transition into a new line of work.

"I'm going to say the guy that's basically going into every other sport right now," said The Miz. "I want Tim Tebow to come to the WWE."

His pick elicited some particularly excited reactions from the panel, as all three hosts agreed with the choice, but The Miz's theory of the role Tebow would play on WWE TV provided some insight into how fans react to the current product.

"He would be the greatest bad guy we've ever had," said The Miz. "In the world, he's a good guy -- he's so good. In the WWE, he would bad because he's so good. The WWE Universe likes bad boys."

Tebow's entrance into the WWE wouldn't be unprecedented by any stretch. The WWE has a long history of utilizing former professional athletes, and football players in particular. Current WWE superstars Roman Reigns, Titus O'Neil, Baron Corbin and Mojo Rawley are just a few examples in the company's history of talent with either NFL or other professional football experience. The WWE has also been bringing in a lot of talent from around the sports world, including former NFL tackle Brennan Williams, to train in its state-of-the-art Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
