The Detroit Lions had one player named to the Pro Bowl. Here's a look at who was selected and who wasn't selected:
Darius Slay, CB, first Pro Bowl selection: The NFL’s leader in interceptions with seven, he has been on the cusp of making the game the past two years. Forcing turnovers seemed to be the issue and Slay remedied that this year. He also has 11 pass breakups and 52 tackles. By making the Pro Bowl, combined with having more than five interceptions, he picked up another $550,000 in base salary for 2018.

Glover Quin, S: He didn’t have a lot of fan voting, but Quin is one of the game’s best safeties. The heart and leader of Detroit’s defense, he has 69 tackles, three interceptions and three forced fumbles this season. He has a shot at the game, though, as the fourth alternate.
Matthew Stafford, QB: He had a reasonable case for inclusion and could end up there as an alternate. He ranks in the top 10 in every major category except interceptions. He has completed 332 of 501 passes (fourth in completions and attempts) for 3,920 yards (third) and 25 touchdowns (fifth). His 66.3 completion percentage is sixth in the league and 99.1 passer rating is also sixth. He could have a chance to get into the game as the second alternate, though, considering the injured Carson Wentz is one of the quarterbacks named to the NFC roster.
Jamal Agnew, returner: He’s the only returner in the league with two returns for touchdowns this year, both on punts. His 416 punt return yards leads the league, as do his 16 yards per punt return. What could have hurt him was the timing of his knee injury. He missed Weeks 12, 13 and 14, which were some of the final weeks of Pro Bowl voting. He has a shot to end up in Orlando, though, because he’s the first alternate as a return specialist. If Pharoh Cooper chooses not to play -- either because the Rams are in the Super Bowl or for other reasons -- that should open up a slot for Agnew.
