Packers to wear throwback uniforms Sunday against the Eagles

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers will wear their alternate "throwback" uniform for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to the team's website.

The jersey features a navy blue background with a gold circle with large navy blue numbers that is a re-creation of the team's uniform from 1929, the year the Packers won their first championship.

The Packers first wore that throwback jersey in against the San Francisco 49ers in 2010.

NFL helmet regulations require players to use their regular helmets, but the logo and stripes will be removed.

Coaches and team personnel also will wear alternate sideline apparel featuring the "Acme Packers" logo from the 1920s.
