Packers' Ty Montgomery on injury: 'I'm kind of fed up with the process'

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- With each setback, Ty Montgomery has become increasingly frustrated.

The Green Bay Packers rookie receiver will miss his eighth straight game on Sunday because of the high ankle sprain he suffered two months ago.

Here’s the full injury report:

On Friday, Montgomery’s frustration level seemed to reach new heights after he experienced another setback in practice this week. Montgomery said the only thing he can do now is wait for more tests and treatment.

"I’m kind of fed up with the process," Montgomery said.

Montgomery practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday but was unable to return to the field on Thursday.

"I just can’t play football like myself right now," he said.

It was the second time in the past month that Montgomery appeared to be close to a return only to experience a setback. At this point, the only option left might be to shut down Montgomery for the season.

"That’s really a medical conversation," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Friday. "Obviously he’s been having a number of those through the process," a lot of information's been gathered and we’ll just continue to work through that."

The Packers could use Montgomery's roster spot if they want to activate tight end Andrew Quarless off the temporary injured reserve list.

However, they also might need another receiver for Sunday’s game at Oakland. Davante Adams was added to the injury report on Thursday with what McCarthy called a heel injury and was listed as questionable for Sunday.

The Packers could promote receiver Ed Williams from the practice squad. They would have to do so by the end of the day on Saturday in order to play him on Sunday against the Raiders.
