Packers sign Jermaine Whitehead, finally reach full 90-man roster

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers have a full 90-man roster for the first time this offseason after they signed safety Jermaine Whitehead on Wednesday.

Technically, they have 89 players under contract and one unsigned draft pick – first-rounder Kenny Clark.

Whitehead (5-foot-11 and 197 pounds) finished last season with the Baltimore Ravens, who signed him off the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad on Dec. 23. Whitehead was inactive for the Ravens’ final two games. The 49ers originally signed him as an undrafted free agent from Auburn in 2015. He was released by the Ravens last Friday.

The Packers reached the offseason roster limit just as OTA practices are about to begin. The first on-field session is Monday. Tuesday’s practice will be open to reporters and fans (weather permitting).
