GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers have signed another defensive lineman released by one of their NFC North rivals, although the latest one doesn’t come with the same curb appeal as Julius Peppers.

Two days after signing the former Chicago Bears defensive end, the Packers on Monday agreed to terms with former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Letroy Guion, according to one of his agents, Thomas Kleine, who announced the move on Twitter.

It was a one-year contract that could be worth up to $1 million. It includes a $100,000 signing bonus and a base salary of $730,000 plus weekly roster bonuses for every game in which he is active, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.

The 6-foot-4, 303-pound Guion, who visited the Packers on Sunday after also visiting the New England Patriots last week, spent his entire career to date with the Vikings, who drafted him in the fifth round in 2008. He was released earlier this month in a cost-saving, salary-cap driven move. He was scheduled to make $2.5 million this season.

Guion, 26, will have a chance to be a situational player, perhaps spelling B.J. Raji at nose tackle. Raji re-signed with the Packers on Friday. Two other starting defensive linemen from last season, Johnny Jolly and Ryan Pickett, remain unsigned and on the free-agent market.

Last season, Guion appeared in 13 games and was credited with 21 tackles and one sack (which came against the Packers on Oct. 27).
