Tom Brady keeping his plan during four-game suspension under wraps

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's 11:45 a.m. news conference Tuesday was highly anticipated -- it likely marked the last time he will speak to reporters publicly until after serving a four-game suspension to open the season -- and it started in tight-lipped fashion.

Brady was asked how he plans to stay sharp.

"We'll see. Yeah, we'll see," he said, declining to elaborate.

He was then asked if he plans to stay in the region.

"We'll see," he answered.

With a bit of a silence in the room, one reporter asked with a lighthearted touch if Brady planned to share any details of his approach during the suspension.

"No, I don't," he said, which drew some laughter from reporters. "In case someone else is in this situation in the future, I don't want to give away all my tips."

Brady cannot be around the team or have any contact with coaches or players during the suspension (which starts Saturday), but when it was pointed out to him that the NFL does allow him to work with his personal guru, Alex Guerrero, Brady smiled and said, "That's nice of them."

"We've been working together for over 12 years now. He's one of my best friends," Brady added. "We'll do what we always do, use all these days in the best way that's possible to stay prepared and stay sharp."

Brady has one more chance to play, in Thursday's preseason finale at the New York Giants, which he said he hopes is the way it turns out.

"It's always up to Coach Belichick. I wish I'd play every game. I love playing. I love playing [in] practice. I love playing preseason games, regular-season games, postseason games. I love thinking about football. It's just the way it is," he said.
