SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The San Francisco 49ers had one player named to the Pro Bowl. Here's a look at who was selected and who wasn't:

SELECTIONS

Kyle Juszczyk, fullback, second Pro Bowl: As one of the 49ers' prized free-agent acquisitions, Juszczyk arrived with big expectations for his role in the offense. Though that might not have manifested itself in traditional statistics, he's been a valuable piece of the offense because of his versatility. Juszczyk has played multiple positions while remaining one of the best blocking backs in the league.

SNUBS

Robbie Gould, kicker: Perhaps snub is too strong of a word considering that Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein is absolutely deserving, but Gould is more than worthy of a mention here and should get to go if the Rams advance deep into the postseason. Gould has been money for the Niners almost all season, setting a career high with 36 field goals made, including a current streak of 20 in a row. In a career filled with success, Gould is having perhaps his best season.

Joe Staley, left tackle: There were a few hiccups early on, but Staley has been back to form for most of the season and is still a shutdown blindside protector. According to Pro Football Focus, Staley has graded out as the seventh-best tackle in the league this season. With right tackle Trent Brown dealing with a shoulder injury, Staley's consistency on the left side has allowed the Niners to send extra blockers to help in Brown's stead.
