The Brooklyn Nets have been the consensus favorites to win the NBA title at sportsbooks for most of the season - until now.
Caesars Sportsbook on Friday moved the Phoenix Suns into the role as co-favorites with the Nets to win the title. It's the first time this season Brooklyn is not sole favorite at Caesars.
The sportsbook initially elected not to adjust Brooklyn's championship odds after Thursday's trade that sent James Harden and Paul Millsap to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for three players, including Ben Simmons, and draft picks. The Nets were 4-1 prior to and after the trade at Caesars. But on Friday, the book decided to lengthen Brooklyn's title odds a notch to 9-2, along with Suns.
Phoenix owns the best record in the NBA (45-10 as of Friday) and sits atop the Western Conference, 4.5 games ahead of the second-place Golden State Warriors.
Brooklyn, on the other hand, has lost 10 games in a row. Yet, the Nets were still the sole title favorites at sportsbooks like FanDuel and DraftKings.
The Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas has the Suns and Warriors as co-favorites.
