Ramesh Mendis was the last man out, following a brisk 35, an innings that added a little gloss to what had initially looked to be a pretty underwhelming morning for the visitors, after they had lost both overnight batters - Niroshan Dickwella and Dunith Wellalage - within the first hour of the day. Overall, Pakistan will likely be the happier of the two sides, having kept Sri Lanka under 400, on what is still a decent surface for batting. While 378 is a competitive total, Pakistan will feel pretty confident in making some healthy inroads into that deficit by the end of play today. Sri Lanka will need to bowl well here.
