Another solid day for Sri Lanka so far. Dimuth karunaratne and Dhananjaya de Silva batted out the crucial first hour of the morning, both bringing up their fifties in the process. Dimuth used the sweep to good effect, while Dhanajaya employed the late-cut to pick up runs. Dimuth was brilliantly caught at short-leg shortly after passing his fifty, but Dhananajaya carried on. He had brief support from Dunith Wellalage as Sri Lanka crossed hundred runs for the morning in the first session and the lead crossed 400. Sri Lanka came back after lunch in search of some quick runs and to allow Dhananjaya to reach his 9th Test hundred. He did so in the 86th over with another back-cut, a productive shot for him throughout his innings. Ramesh Mendis, too, got into the act and played some attractive shots, particularly a whip through midwicket. The duo added 82 for the 8th wicket as Sri Lanka's lead crossed 500. Sri Lanka finally declared with a lead of 507. Question is, have they left it too late? We'll find out as Pakistan come out for the chase shortly.
