And with that, the doubleheader day of the ILT20 concludes. Thank you all for staying with us and tuning in. This is Rashad Mahbub, signing off on behalf of our scorer Sudeep Poojar and the rest of the ESPNcricinfo crew. Goodbye!
Player of the Match, Sam Curran: "To be honest, I think winning the game is the most satisfying. We're in a really nice place after putting two strong games together. The satisfaction comes from taking your team over the line. It was a little bit later in the last over than we probably would have liked, but I'm just trying to read game situations as best I can and be that guy on the team who takes us over the line. So, yes, I'm feeling a bit better now. [Bowling options] I think that's a credit to the staff who built this franchise and the lineup. Keeping seven players from last year has created a lot of consistency. That consistency helps with the players' confidence, roles, and clarity. The wickets have also played differently at most grounds, so we've been able to make tactical changes, bringing in a spinner, playing an extra seamer, or an extra batter, which is a nice option to have. It certainly helps when you're winning because you don't have to overthink things. So we know we have to keep improving each game, and we'll keep pushing this momentum towards the back end."
Lockie Ferguson: "It was a complete game. We've had different players in the group stand up today. Sammy [Curran] with the ball was outstanding. He bowled a pretty big over when they were starting to gain momentum. Noor Ahmad has been great for us this whole time, and I thought Lawrence bowled nicely on a wicket with the big side boundaries. Different guys performing is always pleasing. [Team depth] It's nice looking around at the group. Again, it was great for different members to step up today. Nice to see Hasan [Nawaz] get a few out of the screws; he has a nice golf swing on him! Every game we play is important. We are still developing as cricketers, and the group are enjoying their time together. Obviously, we've had a good start to the tournament, but we all talk about how you finish. After last year, we've got to right a few wrongs, but we are a long way off there. We've got to see how Tuesday goes and go from there."
Dasun Shanaka: "I think the toss is a factor, but at the same time, we need to show more intent with the bat. When we posted 166, I felt it was enough given how they bowl. However, our spinners didn't bowl the length we wanted them to. If they had bowled well, the result could have been different. [Desert Vipers] They've been a very strong side. Their bowling looks so good because they have five genuine bowlers. We had enough power to compete, but the question is always how we are going to post the score. In this kind of situation, I think we could have scored 10-15 more runs in this game."
10:08 pm The Desert Vipers have also officially qualified for the playoffs with tonight's win. The Vipers got off to a lively start against the Capitals' bowlers, who utilised the turn and swing of the new ball. The opening partnership scored 38 runs before Mustafizur Rahman struck with a slower bouncer that Fakhar Zaman failed to ramp, getting caught behind. The Vipers reached 50/1 after the Powerplay. Haider Ali was introduced immediately after the Powerplay and quickly dismissed Max Holden for 34 runs. Mohammad Nawaz was dropped by David Willey at long-on in the ninth over, a mistake that gifted a six. Nawaz capitalised, hitting three quick sixes, but eventually got caught out trying to go downtown off a Salamkheil googly, departing after a quickfire 31 off 17 balls. Crucially, the Vipers never let the chase slip, consistently rotating the strike and hitting boundaries through the middle overs. Shimron Hetmyer was dropped on 10 by Dasun Shanaka at mid-wicket, a costly miss that could have been the game's turning point. A 47-run partnership between Hetmyer and Sam Curran eased the pressure in the death overs. Curran sealed the victory with a massive six over long-on, remaining unbeaten on 52 runs, securing the win. While Mohammad Nabi, Mustafizur, and Salamkheil were economical, they failed to take wickets at vital times, and the other bowlers conceded runs at an economy rate above 10.

DaWolf: "@Arquam - it's about winning the league not the match. They need options if they get in trouble in the playoffs or final. I agree Hetmyer was a better choice for this individual game. But Bruce does need some opportunities in case he's needed in the playoffs or final."
