7:09pm Wow, what a last over for MI Cape Town. They were struggling to get to 160 but because of Linde and Potgieter, they now have a 170-plus total on the board. A lot of the credit has to also go to Brevis, who seemed to be batting on a different surface altogether. He smashed the ball to all parts en route a 23-ball fifty and that set MICT up for a score they eventually ended up getting, even if the first half of the death overs did not go to plan.

SEC were sporadically good, but when MICT came after them, they were guilty of leaking too many boundaries. One of those phases was during the middle overs, where their spinners came in for some tap. The final over was also a little too expensive and they now have to chase down what looks like a slightly steep score on a two-paced track. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Dewald Brevis: I just want to thank God. It has been an interesting time. Enjoyed every moment out there. Focus was to watch the ball and glad I could contribute to the team. (On embracing a fearless mindset) Absolutely. It is a thing my brother mentioned to me, to play fearless but not reckless. It (the partnership between himself and Ingram) was very important. That partnership helped. Once wickets fall, it is almost like the runs dry up a little bit. It was what the team needed at the time. I think it (the score) is enough for us as a team. We have a great bowling attack and cannot wait to see the guys bowl.

Jansen to Potgieter, FOUR, Potgieter finishes the innings with a boundary! Yorker goes wrong and ends up as a low full toss on the stumps. Potgieter sits deep in his crease and then, with a flick of the wrists, whips it past square leg!

6
Jansen to Potgieter, SIX, Potgieter joins in on the fun! This is in the slot outside off and the width allows Potgieter to get his hands through the ball. Holds his shape and carves it over the wide long off fence!

Around the wicket to Potgieter too

Swanepoel to Linde, 1 wide, a wild delivery, bowled a mile outside off. The idea was right but the execution was quite off. Some exercise for the umpire

Superb planning and execution so far. Can Swanepoel finish off the over?

Gleeson to Linde, 1 run, another short ball, climbing onto the batter on middle and leg. Linde hops back and scuffs his pull towards deep square leg

Shubham tells me that the 90 runs MICT scored in the middle overs today was the most by any team at this venue in the SA20, going past the 84 SEC managed against the Durban's Super Giants last year

16.4

Gleeson to Potgieter, 1 run, shortish outside leg. Potgieter stays inside the line and gloves it down to fine leg to get off the mark

Gleeson to Rashid Khan, OUT, oh dear - the wheels are coming off for the visitors! Dug into the track outside off, daring Rashid to go over mid off. He takes up that invitation but comes up second-best. Comfortably. Cannot get on top of the bounce and spoons it straight to Swanepoel at extra cover. Gleeson turns around and immediately points to someone, indicating that this was perhaps the plan all along!
