MLG announces new Call of Duty World League season kickoff in Vegas

Major League Gaming announced Monday that the new Call of Duty World League season will kick off on Dec. 16 at MLG Vegas: a new three-day festival in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The competition, which will be the first major event featuring Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, will take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino where 12 North American teams will compete in pool play; 96 other teams will also compete for a spot on Championship Sunday and the $100,000 prize pool in a double elimination open bracket.

The event, being promoted as an esports and digital culture festival, will also feature a $100,000 Overwatch Invitational.

According to the press release, there will be surprise musical performances and various interactive experiences offered throughout the weekend.
