North American League Championship Series team FlyQuest has come to terms with Team SoloMid for the transfer of its second AD carry Jason "WildTurtle" Tran, TSM announced on Thursday.
The transfer comes after FlyQuest began actively pursuing AD carries during the mid-season transfer period following the conclusion of the North American LCS playoffs in April.
The team agreed to transfer terms with Challenger Series organization Tempo Storm for AD carry Aleš "Freeze" Kněžínek, who tried out for the position at the FlyQuest team house in Los Angeles, but ultimately the team decided against it, sources close to both parties told ESPN. Freeze currently remains on the trade market as Tempo Storm explores its options for its bottom lane. WildTurtle will replace Johnny "Altec" Ru in the FlyQuest lineup
The team also actively scouted several other options, including former Tainted Minds AD carry Tristan "Cake" Côté-Lalumière, sources close to that player told ESPN.
The move will mark the first time WildTurtle has competed with former teammates Hai "Hai" Du Lam and Daerek "LemonNation" Hart since 2013 as a part of Cloud9 before WildTurtle moved onto the Team SoloMid squad.
FlyQuest formed as an organization in December when Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Wesley Edens purchased the LCS spot obtained by Cloud9 Challenger and the contracts of four of its players, including Hai, LemonNation, Altec, and An "Balls" Van Le, for a collective $2.5 million. The team took fourth place in its first split in the League Championship Series in April.
