SK Telecom T1 and G2 Esports each won by a 3-1 margin in the quarterfinals on Sunday to move within one victory of the final at the League of Legends World Championship in Madrid, Spain.

SKT downed Splyce, while G2 handled Damwon Gaming, setting up a semifinal meeting between the two next Sunday, also in Madrid. The first semifinal will be played Saturday between Invictus Gaming and FunPlus Phoenix.

SKT, the top seed from South Korea, jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Splyce. They dropped the third game but clinched in the fourth, as jungler Kim "Clid" Tae-min was named Player of the Series.

G2, the top European seed, claimed the first game against Damwon, then lost the second before winning the final two. Bot laner Luka "Perkz" Perkovic took Player of the Series honors for G2.

SKT and G2 also met in the semifinals of the Mid-Season Invitational in May, with G2 prevailing in five games.

The League of Legends World Championships began with 16 teams divided into four groups for a double round robin of best-of-one matches. The top two teams in each group advanced to the best-of-five quarterfinals.

The best-of-five final will be held Nov. 10 in Paris. The championship team will receive 37.5 percent of the prize pool, set at a minimum of $2,225,000. The runner-up will get 13.5 percent of the prize pool.
