PHILADELPHIA -- The Eagles engaged in trade discussions surrounding standout defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, sources told ESPN, but opted to hold on to the six-time Pro Bowler.
Philadelphia did manage to make a move, however, right before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline, acquiring cornerback Kary Vincent Jr. from the Denver Broncos in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round pick.
Vincent, 22, was a seventh-round pick of the Broncos in the 2021 NFL draft. He posted six interceptions and 15 passes defended over three seasons at LSU before opting out of his senior season.
Vincent (5-foot-10, 185 pounds) didn't receive any playing time through eight regular-season games in Denver. The Broncos have a solid cornerback group that includes Pat Surtain II, Ronald Darby, Kyle Fuller and Bryce Callahan. The Eagles acquired another young corner, Tay Gowan, as part of the deal that sent tight end Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals. They made three pre-deadline deals in all, including trading quarterback Joe Flacco to the New York Jets in exchange for a conditional sixth-round pick.
Since Howie Roseman first became general manager in 2010, the Eagles have made 104 trades, according to ESPN Stats & Information data, the second most in the NFL behind only New England (115). They've been as active as just about anybody when it comes to in-season deals, with eight trades in either October or November since 2010, which is tied for second most with the Rams behind the Patriots (14).
With rumors swirling, Cox posted a message Tuesday afternoon reading "Forever Philly!"
