Key talking points from Ghana Premier League Week 2

It was a weekend for teams on the road in the Ghana Premier League with two away wins, four draws and only two defeats across the eight matches.

Those games also provided early indicators of a few things -- WAFA may have a great season again, Kotoko's goalscoring problems are far from over, and for all the bad press, this is still a league with significant interest.

- There is no panic yet, but Accra Hearts of Oak's start to the season will lead to a few questions in Adabraka. They have leaked the most goals this season - four -- have scored only two, and sit second from bottom with one point. That game against AshantiGold would also lead to questions about their choice of Cape Coast as a home venue, and about the effectiveness of Henry Wellington as the man in charge.

- Liberty, famous for being the major conveyor belt for talent in Ghana football, is enduring a hard time. They struggled for long spells last season, and after failing to re-enforce playing personnel for this term, have started the season slowly. They were completely outclassed by WAFA on Sunday in a game that underscored how times have changed for both sides. Having lost key palyers like Samuel Sarfo, Liberty's strategy for the season is to rely on players from their academy, and with a rookie coach in Reginald Boateng at the helm. It is not going well so far. The manner of their 3-1 defeat suggests that they could be in for a long season.

- Rarely do WAFA win on the road, but on Sunday they notched their first in 10 games -- and in some style. Klaus Rasmunssen's team were at their passing best, with national Under-17 midfielder Aminu Mohammed at the heart of it. He opened the scoring -- his second this season -- before Richard Danso and Charles Boateng, on his return after a two-year absence, added a third. It was WAFA's way of saying that, on a good surface, they will thrive. On the evidence of their first two games, they will be challenging for the title next season.

- Kotoko have four points from their opening two games of the season, which is not a bad return. But in their opening two games their best player has been goalkeeper Felix Annan. He was the main difference as the Porcupine Warriors secured a 1-0 win over Inter Allies courtesy of Obed Owusu's first half goal. It's been Kotoko's way in recent seasons ... score the odd goal, grind out results. If they are to win their first league title in three seasons, that has to change.

- The top moment from this weekend was not a goal. It was the sight of AshantiGold coach C.K Akunnor wildly celebrating his side's third goal in the win over Hearts of Oak. It was a big moment for the Obuasi side, who are now the only team with a 100 percent record. Now under new management, AshantiGold have started the season in great form. They will hope that continues.
