Mikel Arteta: Arsenal fans must turn up to the Emirates like animals vs. Brentford (0:53)

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has urged Arsenal supporters to turn up at Emirates Stadium "like animals" against Brentford as his team aims to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League. (0:53)

The onset of December indicates one thing -- a jam-packed Premier League schedule.

All 10 teams are in action this midweek, with six games taking place on Wednesday.

Our attention today was focused on the Emirates Stadium and Anfield, where Arsenal beat Brentford and Liverpool were held by Sunderland, respectively.

Mikel Merino put Arsenal ahead in the first half but it was a nervy affair at the Emirates as Brentford pushed the league leaders hard in the second half. It took Bukayo Saka's late goal in the closing stages to safely secure the three points for Mikel Arteta's side.

Liverpool were sluggish at Anfield again and looked set for another defeat after Chemsdine Talbi's strike midway through the second half. An own-goal from Nordi Mukiele in the 81st minute raised hopes of a famous Anfield comeback, but it was Sunderland who nearly found the winner after Talbi had an effort cleared off the line by a backtracking Federico Chiesa near the end.
