After much speculation, League of Legends top professional Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu has joined KT Rolster as the AD carry for the 2017 season, as reported by FOMOS.
Deft joins former EDward Gaming teammate Heo "PawN" Won-seok, as well as long-time KT Rolster member Go "Score" Dong-bin and former ROX Tigers top laner Song "Smeb" Kyung-ho.
Deft returns to the South Korean circuit after spending two years in China. In 2015, he joined EDward Gaming alongside PawN, who was his teammate prior to the 2014 spring season. The pair helped EDG win eight tournaments over two years, making the bracket stages of the World Championship two years in a row.
During the 2016 season, Deft showcased his talents with a 6.3 Kill-Death-Assist ratio during the summer split (second among AD carries in China's League Pro League). In the World Championship, he held a 179 gold lead on average at the 10-minute mark over his direct opponents (third-highest among AD carries) despite having the lowest CS-per-minute numbers (8.6).
Deft's move bolsters a KT Rolster squad on the verge of forming a super team to take on SK Telecom T1 and others in the South Korean circuit. During his time in the circuit in 2013 and 2014, Deft helped Samsung Galaxy Blue cement itself as a local cornerstone and reach the World Championship semifinal, where sister team Samsung Galaxy White prevailed 3-0.
The squad has yet to announce its signing at the support position.
