          NFL mandatory minicamps 2022 -- Browns QB Deshaun Watson speaks; Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson, Dalton Schultz practice

            Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson talked to the media, players such as Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson showed up to work, and the Washington Commanders continued to navigate the fallout from defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio's comments on the Jan. 6 insurrection as minicamps got into full swing on Tuesday.

            This week is the busiest of the minicamp season, as 17 teams are working out starting on Tuesday. Last week saw 12 teams participate in minicamps, with the Miami Dolphins going earlier and the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles choosing not to have mandatory minicamps.

            Deshaun Watson reiterates innocence, regrets impact of lawsuits on Browns, family
            Watson reiterated Tuesday that he is innocent of the numerous allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct during massage sessions that have been made against him. Yet while the Browns' quarterback said once again that he has no regrets about any of his actions, he admitted that he does regret the impact that the allegations have had on the people around him.

            Lamar Jackson's return to Ravens practice 'boosts everybody's spirits'
            Jackson made an impressive return to the Ravens, receiving positive reviews after his first practice of the offseason. Jackson looked comfortable and had good velocity on his throws, and teammates expressed excitement over seeing him on the field for the first time in six months. "I think everybody knows that Lamar, he's what drives our team," Ravens tight end Mark Andrews said Tuesday. "The energy around him being here lifts everybody up."

            Kliff Kingsbury 'praying' for new Kyler Murray contract by training camp
            Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury wants quarterback Kyler Murray's contract situation to be resolved before the team reunites for training camp late next month. "I'm praying before training camp," Kingsbury said Tuesday after the first day of Arizona's minicamp. If Murray, who was on the field for Tuesday's practice, doesn't receive an extension or a new deal by then, Kingsbury cast some doubt on the quarterback reporting on the first day of training camp.

            Cowboys QB Dak Prescott 'so much further along' this year
            A year ago, Prescott was not fully cleared to take part in the Cowboys' minicamp as he worked his way back from a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle. Now? "I think I'm so, so much further along than I was last year at this time," Prescott said. "I mean just being able to get the team reps, being able to move more, take care of my whole body and just focus on everything and not just my leg is a huge difference."

            Dalton Schultz reports to Cowboys camp
            After skipping the final week of voluntary organized team activities, Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz has shown up for this week's mandatory minicamp, sources confirmed. Had Schultz skipped the minicamp, he would have been subject to fines totaling more than $95,000 over the three days.

            Bears LB Robert Quinn's absence from mandatory minicamp not excused
            Quinn, who has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the offseason, was not in attendance for the Bears' first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Quinn was the only player on Chicago's 90-man roster not physically present for practice. The absence was not excused, according to coach Matt Eberflus, who said he has communicated with the 32-year-old pass-rusher in recent weeks but did not specify why Quinn was a no-show.

            Chargers safety Derwin James limited at minicamp after labrum surgery
            The Chargers opened mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, but coach Brandon Staley opted to play it safe with All-Pro safety Derwin James Jr., who underwent surgery on his left labrum in February. The fourth-year pro was held out of competitive action. "Derwin didn't participate in any of the 7-on-7 this spring because of him coming off the labrum surgery," Staley said Tuesday. "We wanted to make sure he stayed out of the competitive 7-on-7. He did all the individual work ... he was in all our 11-on-11 team stuff."
